| 明代著名医家吴有性在总结前人经验的基础上,通过细心观察、深入思考及严格实践,系统阐述了杂气的概念、性质与致病特点等,揭示了传染病的诸多规律,预测到了致病微生物的客观存在,对传染病病因的研究思路与现代实验医学有着惊人的相似之处。但由于杂气学说自身的缺陷、传统中医理论的排异、社会科学技术水平的限制、固有治学方法与社会环境等诸多因素的影响,杂气学说并未发展为病原微生物学。总结历史,反思杂气病因说的沉浮,对于中医学的现代发展,无疑有着重要的借鉴意义。 |

| Wu Youxing,a famous physician in Ming dynasty,illuminated the concept of Pathogenic Qi (za qi) and discussed the property and pathogenic features of pathogenic qi on the basis of the his ancestors' experiences and on his own clinical practice with deep contemplation and sharp observation.Although the theory of pathogenic qi revealed many features of epidemic diseases and even foresaw the objective existence of pathogenic microorganism,the thinking of which has surprising similarities to the modern experimental medicine,many factors hindered it from developing into a higher stage like modern experimental medicine,such as the defects of the theory itself,the exclusion from conventional approaches in medical field as well as in educational circles,the restriction from the then scientific levels,etc.Today it is undoubtedly significant to reflect the ups and downs of the doctrine of Pathogenic Qi,for the modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine cannot be brought into being without referring back to the past practice and experience. |
